Flex Gym opened the doors for its first members, on Sept. 1, 1994 at 5:30 a.m. With 5500 square feet of floor space, our goal was to furnish the Tidewater area with a well equipped, well staffed workout facility, where safety, efficiency and proper lifting techniques were stressed.

    Flex Gym was the first facility in Tidewater to introduce Hammer Strength equipment to its members. Our expansive free weight area was built around Hammer Strength and it quickly attracted the area's athletes, body builders, power lifters and anyone who wanted results. Flex Gym is the home to six Miss Virginia Beauty Pageant winners, national caliber power lifters and body builders...

Tim Fernandez competed in the NPC Nationals on October 15-16th and placed 7th out of 23 competitors in the welter weight class. He has made tremendous gains this past year by going up 2 weight classes and packing on 20 solid pounds of muscle. He received extensive praise from the judges and will be back next year to fight for his pro card!
